TMRW Sports Fund Benefits PBSC’s Programs, Students and Faculty.
February 21, 2023 – (Palm Beach, Fla.): TMRW Sports, which is focused on building progressive approaches to sports, media and entertainment, is gifting $1 million to Palm Beach State College as part of its agreement to build the future home of TGL on its Palm Beach Gardens campus. The announcement was made today by Dr. Ava Parker, President, Palm Beach State College; David Rutherford, CEO, Foundation for Palm Beach State College; and Mike McCarley, Founder & CEO, TMRW Sports.
“This public-private partnership is a true collaboration that serves not only Palm Beach State College but also Palm Beach County in tremendous ways. The initial benefits are countless, and the potential impact for students and the community is extraordinary,” said Rutherford.
“We are privileged that TMRW Sports has selected Palm Beach State as the exclusive home for TGL,” said Parker. “This is truly a transformational gift, delivering unprecedented exposure that positions Palm Beach State College as a national leader for innovation in higher learning.”
Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy today presented a $1 million check to Parker and Rutherford, celebrating the partnership at Palm Beach State College’s Palm Beach Gardens campus.
“This gift furthers our commitment to our partnership with Palm Beach State College. It helps to provide more access and opportunities through our tech-focused approach, by partnering on education, professional development and vocational opportunities,” said McCarley. “TMRW Sports and our partners will serve as resources for students interested in careers in sports, technology and entertainment.”
Celebrating its 90th year, Palm Beach State College has been elevating its curriculum and educational programs through innovative technology, just as TMRW is doing for professional sports entertainment. TGL, a new golf league in partnership with the PGA TOUR that begins play in 2024, fuses advanced technology, innovation and live action for primetime television audiences.
The TMRW Sports partnership benefits Palm Beach State’s students and programs, ensuring scholarships, academic program development and general project support. In addition, the partnership provides for guest lectures, academic teaching support and keynote speakers, including professional sports figures and celebrities from a variety of media. TMRW intends to introduce the opportunity with its partners to secure matching gifts.
This agreement also allows for Palm Beach State’s use of the TGL venue on a parcel of currently unused land that expands the infrastructure of the Palm Beach Gardens campus for college programming, enhanced educational experiences and community-wide events.
The magnitude of the gift and partnership represents one of the most significant milestones in the College’s recent history.
